How to play nuts color sort
Learn legal moves, the four-nut limit, and the exact condition that completes a puzzle.
Your first move
Choose a bolt with at least one nut. Its top nut lifts slightly to show the selection. Then choose a different bolt to move that one nut. Only the top nut moves; selecting a stack never pours all of its matching nuts at once.
- Tap or click a filled bolt to select it.
- Choose an empty bolt, or a bolt whose top nut matches the selected color.
- The destination must have fewer than four nuts.
- Select the same bolt again to cancel your selection.
When a move is allowed
| Destination | Result |
|---|---|
| Empty, with space | Any top color can move onto it. |
| Matching top color, with space | One selected nut moves. |
| Different top color | The move is rejected. |
| Four nuts already present | The bolt is full; the move is rejected. |
If a move is rejected, the message below the board explains the rule. A filled destination may become the new selected bolt. Check the lifted nut and selection outline before making the next move.
What counts as finished
A puzzle is complete when every nonempty bolt holds exactly four nuts of one color. Empty bolts are allowed. A stack of two matching nuts looks tidy but is not finished. The win message appears only after every color meets the four-nut condition.
After you solve it
Practice and Challenge offer a Next puzzle button after a win. Daily mode waits for the next UTC day. Copy challenge shares the starting board and your result text. It does not copy your move history or resume position.
