Save progress and share a nuts puzzle
Learn what survives reload, what copied links contain, and what browser storage cannot synchronize.
What is saved automatically
The game saves the current seed, level, arrangement and move count after a successful move or board-changing control. Practice, Challenge and dated Daily boards are kept separately. Reopening the same mode in the same browser restores a valid saved arrangement for that seed. No account is needed.
What is not saved
The selected bolt and undo history are session state. Reloading clears them, even when your board and move count return. Hints are calculated again rather than stored. Progress does not synchronize across browsers or devices, and private browsing or clearing site data can remove it.
What Copy challenge does
The copied text includes the mode, result or level, and a link to the starting puzzle. Practice and Challenge include a level parameter. Opening it gives the recipient the same generated start. It cannot reproduce your exact partially sorted board or prove a best possible score.
When a saved game does not return
- Check that you opened the same domain and mode.
- Check whether the UTC date changed for a daily puzzle.
- Use the same browser profile; private windows have separate storage.
- If storage is unavailable, keep playing but expect progress to disappear on reload.
